DOST explores opportunity with Argentine’s IMPSA image

On 30 March 2021, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) met with His Excellency Augusto César Granada, Argentine Ambassador to the Philippines, to present Industrias Metalurgicas Pescarmona S.A. (IMPSA). IMPSA is an Argentine company with a century of experience in developing expertise and technology products for renewable energy power generation and nuclear power plant equipment. The company is also involved in the CBK Hydro Power Generation project in Luzon. It is worthwhile to mention that the firm’s expertise focuses on renewable energy, hydropower systems, Artificial Intelligence, and other designs of nuclear components.

Initial discussions focused on potential collaborations in artificial intelligence, hydro systems, renewable energy, and technical services; specifically training, testing, and diagnostics. As a result, DOST and IMPSA agreed to do a follow-up meeting to discuss DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute’s ongoing project on smart energy monitoring systems and a webinar on Artificial Intelligence.
