DOST-I conducts cGMP seminar and skills training on mango vinegar processing for PH navy personnel image

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION - In response to the request of Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL), the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office No. 1 (DOST RO1) through the Provincial Science and Technology Center- La Union (PSTC-LU) provides current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) seminar and skills training on Mango vinegar processing to NFNL personnel last June 18, 2021.

CDR Rodney P. Cudal PN, the Civil Military Operations Officer of NFNL, and his staff, personally visited the DOST RO1 last June 4, 2021 to coordinate and avail trainings that could help them gain more skills. 

NFNL considered the benefits of mango vinegar processing using the mango fruits that are abundant and available within their camp. 

Ms. Princess P. Abuan, Project Assistant II and Food Safety Expert of PSTC-LU, served as the lecturer/trainer of the cGMP seminar and on Mango vinegar processing. 

She included in the seminar the importance and benefits of cGMP in food processing. This is to assure a safe, wholesome, and quality product. She reiterated the important aspects of cGMP for them to understand and value the practices. On the skills training, she discussed and demonstrated the technology on mango vinegar processing. She explained the systematic procedure using the proper equipment/materials. 

During the closing program, NFNL expressed their gratitude to DOST 1 and they are looking forward for other trainings they could avail in the agency.
