DOST-PNRI and ROSTECHNADZOR conduct workshop on Nuclear Regulatory
The Joint Virtual Workshop on Strengthening the Legislative and Regulatory Frameworks between the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PNRI) and the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) of the Russian Federation was conducted from 13-14 May 2021.
The workshop provided a platform for both sides to discuss the overview of their respective legal and regulatory frameworks. The event also provided opportunity for both institutions to share best practices in nuclear safety regulations and regulatory experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the highlights of the engagement was a virtual tour of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant that was facilitated by Rosenergoatom. Incidentally, the workshop was conducted as part of the implementation of the MOU between DOST-PNRI and Rostechnadzor.
